Contact lenses are a cosmetic alternative to glasses. But in a few cases, they function better than glasses. Some people can wear them in comfort all day long, while others have to take them out after eight or ten hours.
If you think that you may need glasses or contact lenses, you should go to your doctor first. If you already wear glasses or contact lenses, you should have your eyes checked every eighteen months or so. If you are elderly, even if you don’t wear glasses, make sure that you get your eyes tested every second year, because the eye muscles age just like other muscles and become less flexible. Children, whose sight may change as they grow, should have their eyes examined with at least the same frequency.
